Mount Meru is the fifth highest mountain in Africa and is allocated in Tanzania East Africa. It is an endless mountain to climb and award panoramic view, including views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The mountain is irreproachable and less overcrowded as equaled to its Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya.
DAY ONE: ARUSHA TO MOMELA GATE (1500M/4920FT) TO MIRIAKAMBA HUT (2515M/8250FT):
NOTE: MOMELA GATE TO MIRIAKAMBA HUT (2515M/8250FT) IS 4 -7 HOURS WALKING:
Depart in your hotel at 9 am ready for your climb, driving from Arusha town to Arusha National Park at Momela gate is approximately 35 to 50-minutes, this will depend on the hotel location. When you arrive at Momela gate, your main guide will complete all necessary registration and pay for your entree park fee and all other payment that are included. While the porters will be prepared and arrange the mountain gears and groceries ready for the hike, you will sometimes have to go on the park board for viewing some of the information that you may learn before your hike. After achievement of all forms, the guide will put all the team mutually incorporating the park ranger ready to begin your climb. Due to the high possibility of spotting wildlife, an armed ranger, hired through the National Park, is required to hike with our team for the duration of the walk. The climb will commence within the dry forest, the first day of hiking is similar to a walking safari that you will have the opportunity to view wild animals including buffaloes, giraffe, zebras, monkeys, antelope, and may often be elephants onward. You will succeed at Miriakamba Hut in the afternoon. It is 2500m, and you will rest while viewing spectacular views of Arusha National Park and Kilimanjaro. There are restroom facilities, a water source and separate kitchen and lodge services for the mountain staff. Also, there is solar panels provide electricity in the evening. Beverage, soft drinks, and beer are available at Miriakamba Hut. You will have your evening meal and overnight at Miriakamba Hut 2515m. (Lunch/Dinner)
DAY TWO: MIRIAKAMBA (2,515M/8,250FT) TO SADDLE HUT (3,570M, 11,710FT)
NOTE: DAY TWO HIKING TIME IS THREE TO SIX HOURS.
In the morning after breakfast, you will start hiking as you leave Miriakamba Hut behind and follow the steep trail to the wooden steps. Keep on walking until you achieve to the clear point in the woods area called Mgongo wa tembo “Elephant Ridge.” While there are improved inclusiveness at high speeds, it would be cooler than the past day and due to this, the addition will give the opinion to find accessible to reach little Meru. Remember to bring a jacket, hat and gloves as the weather is going keep going chilled. The more efficient can summit Little Meru (3,820m) in the hours of daytime for extraordinary views of Meru and Kilimanjaro. DAY THREE: SADDLE HUT (3,570M, 11,710FT) TO SUMMIT (4,566M/14,980FT) TO MIRIAKAMBA (2,515M/8,250FT)
NOTE: DAY THREE HIKING TIME IS EIGHT TO TWELVE HOURS:
Wake up around 1:00 am, take a light breakfast and commencement to hike around 2:00 am all the access to Rhino Point (3,800 m.) and on to Cobra Point (4350m). We arrive the Mount Meru summit (4,566 m) in time for sunrise there is a definite possibility to see Kilimanjaro Summit above the clouds. Descend to cross a small narrow rock ridge between the sloping outer wall of the crater and the sheer cliffs of the inner wall and then proceed to cross the alternatively rocky and sandy trail. Walk smoothly as the trail involves some rock scrambling, in some places there are abrupt drops on either side, so please follow your guide and the green trail sign.
Enter the crater rim at sunup and sustained Meru summit, the view is wondrous all the access to the summit, the trail grant full vantage of the steep crater walls, ash cone, cloud formations and the neighboring park. Hike to the summit are people deemed to go moderately from soil trail conditions, heavy winds, and height. Remember Bringing energy food or even snack on during the trek. After photography, you will begin to decline towards the saddle for brunch and then proceed to Miriakamba. From Saddle Hut to the summit to Miriakamba Hut walk is 8-12 hours walking. You will have your evening meal and overnight night at Miriakamba Hut 2515m. (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
DAY FOUR: MIRIAKAMBA (2,515M/8,250FT) TO MOMELA GATE (1,515M/4,920FT)
NOTE: DAY FOUR DESCENDING TIME IS TWO TO THREE HOURS:
Descend to the Momela Gate from Miriakamba Hut, and we will take a short and fast descent way through open grassland and mixed forest, with the possibility of seeing wildlife before reaching Momela Gate in the late morning. But, the descent is fast unless it has rained recently if the trail is wet, your guide will advise either to use the normal way or using the road to descend. After this success, you will all receive certificates for reaching the summits of Mount Meru and Little Meru. You will congratulate each other and thank all your mountain staff and national park guide, then return to Arusha for your schedule Lodge/Hotel.
